About Us

Purrgatory was founded by Vera, a lifelong cat lover, in June 2023. What began as a small 300-square-foot storefront has since grown into a significantly larger space as of March 2025. This larger space has allowed us to expand our mission to provide a safe, enriching environment for adoptable cats to live while they wait for their forever homes.

Proudly woman-owned, Purrgatory is a specialty gift shop dedicated to cat lovers and their feline companions. 

A large portion of our store is used to house and care for adoptable cats from our rescue partner, Smitten’s Rescue. These cats are fostered by the owner Vera until they are adopted. We also host monthly adoption events to help even more cats find loving homes. In addition to supporting rescue efforts, we carry a thoughtfully curated selection of cat-themed gifts, toys, and treats, with many items made by women artists and small businesses.
